Apple Music Has Launched A New Campaign In Honor Of Africa Month This Year

Apple Music has launched a celebration of the various diverse colours, flavors, textures, facets, and sounds of Africa—all the diversity the continent contains—to coincide with this year’s Africa Month.

With music from West Africa, Francophone Africa, East Africa, Lusophone Africa, and Southern Africa, as well as 18 guest playlists, the “Africa Is…” campaign honors Africa Month by paying respect to the streaming platform’s melting pot of invention, creativity, and sounds.

Rema (Nigeria), Moliy (Ghana), Basketmouth (Ghana), Kelvyn Boy (Ghana), Prince Gyasi (Ghana), Andrea Iyamah (Nigeria), Chimano (Kenya), Hussein Suleiman (Uganda), Soraia Ramos (Cape Verde), Eliana Murargy (Mozambique), and others contributed to the playlist.

A flagship editorial and genre playlist, special artist essentials and behind-the-scenes playlists, exclusive home sessions, and the freshest music videos from the most prominent artists are all part of the promotion. ‘Karibu,’ ‘Maboko Pamba,’ ‘Essence,’ ‘Jalier,’ ‘Yamore,’ and ‘Sinzia’ are among the tracks on the different playlists.

It also celebrates African ingenuity and innovation while showcasing all that Africa has to offer today. It also challenges outmoded stereotypes and narratives about Africa and its people. “It’s an invitation to learn how Africans identify themselves, and how they mix their rich cultural influences with modern sensibilities to build new paths in every area they touch,” Apple Music said in a statement.
