Kwesi Arthur, a Ghanaian award-winning rapper and performer, has finally released his long-awaited first studio album, titled “Son Of Jacob.” Here’s where you may listen to “Son of Jacob”: https://platoon.lnk.to/son-of-jacob
The rapper, born Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior, uses his genealogy to portray current Ghanaian life, complete with its highs and lows, on the 15-track album. He also uses his soothing voice to delve into the personal, family, and societal realms.
Arthur weaves multi-lingual flows between trap basslines, Afrocentric drumming, and beautiful pop melodies on the introspective “Silver Spoon,” ambitious “Paper,” and bass-heavy “Winning” with VIC MENSA.
On the Afroswing “Diamonds Dancing,” the Tema native writes humorous lines with Nigerian singer Teni before recruiting UK-based band NSG, merging asokpor and amapiano on “Animal,” and integrating highlife on the gospel-tinged conclusion “Adom.”
