Chief One is fast becoming a ‘darling boy’ of the media eyes after Monday’s showdown in Koforidua at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Xperience Concert.
Delali Sika of Graphic Communications Group who writes for Graphic Showbiz, Attractive Mustapha of Modern Ghana and Worla of Ghana Music in a review after the show have tipped Chief One and Nautyca as top live band performers among the Unsung Nominees.

Chief One who broke into mainstream recognition from December 2021 has been one of the very consistent young Ghanaian talents creating influence on the scene.
“Novayi”, his break out song had key eyeballs like Reggie Rockstone, Samini, Giovani Caleb, Gramps Morgan, Reggy Zippy, among others endorsing him as a promising Ghanaian artiste to look out for. His debut EP titled “Here I Come” released barely 8 weeks ago has surpassed 1 million streams across digital streaming platforms. The EP has banging songs like “Young Boy”, “Mekamo”, “Nyemedzio” and his latest sensation “Du Agbe”. A total of 7 songs listed for it.

Black Sherif, who is in current global highlights also had a similar breakthrough in early 2021; many have tipped Chief One as the next to follow same stead.
Chief One won 3 Music Awards’ “Next Rated Act” in March 2022 at the 5th edition of the awards and currently a nominee for #VGMA23 Unsung category. Though votes are still ongoing, Chief One is in a good lead to win the slot among 9 other nominees. Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2022 is slated for May 6th and May 7th, the nominees jam was held on Monday, April 18, 2022 in Koforidua where some nominees serenaded revelers for the Easter festive season.
