Black Sherif Named In Spotify Global RADAR Programme

Spotify has announced Black Sherif on its global emerging artist programme RADAR.

The fast-rising Ghanaian hip-hop artiste joins five other emerging African talents: Victony (Nigeria), Ayra Starr (Nigeria), BNXN (Nigeria), Buruklyn Boyz (Kenya), and DBN GOGO (South Africa), whose creative works will be amplified by Spotify in the region through ongoing marketing and editorial support.

The new addition represents the streamer’s commitment to supporting artists across all genres and stages of their development. Through this program, Spotify will shine a spotlight on the confirmed talents and expose them to new global fan communities on the platform.

Black Sherif is currently one of Ghana’s best-selling musicians, with over 1.3 million monthly Spotify listeners. He gained national prominence with the commercial success of his hit singles “First Sermon” and “Second Sermon.” He is credited with trophies from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the 3Music Awards.

According to Spotify, this year’s chosen artists will earn editorial, on-platform, and off-platform support to help them expand their respective fanbases. They will also be featured in the local creative marketing campaigns, and their tracks will be added to the global RADAR hub, helping fans from all over the world discover their music.

Since its launch, RADAR has driven an increase in listening and furthered fan-artist connections. In 2020, top African names including Elaine, Willy Cardiac, Tems, and Focalistic joined the programme.
