Our presenter Mark Austin – who briefly had to take cover live on air as air raid sirens sounded just minutes ago – has been giving us the latest on the situation in Ukraine’s capital.
Soldiers were seen running across the square below him into a building.
A few minutes later, as the sirens ended, a woman was seen praying in front of a mural.
Austin says she seemed to be “praying for peace and for some future for this country”.
Many people have been going into the nearby cathedral this morning, he says, despite the intermittent sirens.
