Young Dolph Murder Suspect Sentenced To 2 Years In Prison

One of the suspects charged in the fatal shooting of Young Dolph has been sentenced to prison for violating a previous charge, ActionNews5 reports.

On Tuesday, the 23-year-old suspect in the murder of the Memphis rapper, Justin Johnson, was sentenced to two years in prison for violating the terms of his supervised release for a previous weapons charge. He pleaded guilty to violations such as ā€œnot being regularly employed, missing mandatory drug screenings and therapy, failing to seek permission before leaving the jurisdiction, and being arrested.ā€

Johnson was attacked by a fellow inmate at Tennesseeā€™s Shelby County Jail in March, and the news comes less than a month later. Johnson was punched in the face while on the phone in the jailā€™s visitation area, according to TMZ. Juni Ganguli, his lawyer, stated that his client was not seriously injured and that there was no stated motive for the assault.

According to a Complex report from January, Johnson and Cornelius Smith, 32, were arrested in connection with Dolphā€™s murder last November. Johnson is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, employing a firearm, and theft of property valued at more than $10,000.

As previously reported, Dolphā€™s autopsy results revealed the late rapper suffered 22 gunshot wounds, as he was shot in the chest, abdomen, chin, neck, shoulder, both arms, and multiple times in the back.
