One of the suspects charged in the fatal shooting of Young Dolph has been sentenced to prison for violating a previous charge, ActionNews5 reports.
On Tuesday, the 23-year-old suspect in the murder of the Memphis rapper, Justin Johnson, was sentenced to two years in prison for violating the terms of his supervised release for a previous weapons charge. He pleaded guilty to violations such as ānot being regularly employed, missing mandatory drug screenings and therapy, failing to seek permission before leaving the jurisdiction, and being arrested.ā
Johnson was attacked by a fellow inmate at Tennesseeās Shelby County Jail in March, and the news comes less than a month later. Johnson was punched in the face while on the phone in the jailās visitation area, according to TMZ. Juni Ganguli, his lawyer, stated that his client was not seriously injured and that there was no stated motive for the assault.
According to a Complex report from January, Johnson and Cornelius Smith, 32, were arrested in connection with Dolphās murder last November. Johnson is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, employing a firearm, and theft of property valued at more than $10,000.
As previously reported, Dolphās autopsy results revealed the late rapper suffered 22 gunshot wounds, as he was shot in the chest, abdomen, chin, neck, shoulder, both arms, and multiple times in the back.
