Teachers Are Better Off Under NPP Than NDC Administrations- Dr Bawumia

The Vice President of Republic of Ghana H :E Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has categorically stated that teachers in Ghana are better off under the New Patriotic Party government than the National Democratic Congress administration.

According to him, the situation the NPP government came to inherit was bad and the situation of teachers were not too good as the Teacher Trainee Allowance was cancelled, Book and Research Allowance for tertiary teachers was cancelled, teacher absenteeism was 27%, some students who got to class six couldn’t write their names among other monumental challenges.

Dr Bawumia commission three story office complex at Slatpon in the Mfantsiman constituency in the central region said, the situation under his watch has improved considerably. “We have restored teacher trainee allowances, still paying book and research allowances for university teachers and added the teachers of the colleges of education, brought licensure examination among other good policies we have introduced to help teachers” he stated.

The parliamentary candidate for Mfantsiman constituency who replaced his late husband Hon Ekow Kwasanh Hayford ,Mrs Ophelia Mensah Hayford said she is ready to complete all the projects been carried out by her late husband in the constituency.
